Long Island’s leading butcher shop, Farmingdale Meat Market/Main Street Wholesale Meats, is looking for Delivery Drivers to join our team! Family-owned and operated for three generations, our company is continuously growing—join us in providing the finest meats since 1946!
Our Driver's are responsible for promptly delivering customer orders, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure safe, compliance-focused, and timely delivery of product on assigned routes.
• Review invoices and orders prior to departure to ensure accurate loading.
• Load and unload trucks safely, adapting to specific customer delivery requests.
• Obtain formal delivery confirmations and signatures from each customer.
• Adhere strictly to all DOT and FMCSA regulations, including pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and logs.
• Adapt to changing operational needs. Farmingdale Meat Market, Inc. reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds regularly.
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions in warm and cool environments.
• Exposure to slippery surfaces and moving mechanical parts in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time and frequently use stairs.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
• Ability to work in various areas of the facility as operational needs require.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of professional driving experience.
• Prior experience operating commercial box trucks is highly preferred.
• Valid, clean Driver’s License (no CDL required).
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts as production dictates
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Strong familiarity with Long Island and tri-state area commercial roadways is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of DOT and FMCSA safety guidelines.
• General knowledge of meat products is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
