Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Closing Manager will provide hands-on oversight of retail, wholesale, fleet, and closing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Audits driver routes and GPS to ensure deliveries are being made efficiently
  • Handles all maintenance of delivery trucks including preventative care
  • Implement fuel efficiency procedures with a focus on lowering fuel costs
  • Directly oversees the sanitation team and monitors their performance providing feedback to management
  • Oversee ongoing and preventative maintenance of all equipment and facilities including plant machinery, refrigeration, roof, doors, etc.
  • Order all corrugated and miscellaneous supplies such as retail products, sanitation chemicals, gloves, bags etc.
  • Process returned items 
  • Assemble late day incoming deliveries and assign them to a driver
  • Conduct end of day poultry inventory
  • Provide retail office coverage as needed; answer phones, enter orders, and complete retail transactions
  • Daily lock up of the retail and wholesale facility

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, sit, stand, reach, bend for long periods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgement and decision making abilities
  • Trustworthy and proactive

Preferred, but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business operations, food sciences or related field
  • Knowledge of meats, cuts, yields, and USDA regulations
  • HAACP training and certification a plus
  • Knife skills
  • Wholesale or distribution industry experience
