As a multicultural marketing partner for several major motion picture studios, television networks, streaming services, and consumer brands the division primarily specializes in marketing entertainment properties to LatinX, African-American, and AAPI consumers across the country via a wide range of services, including targeted publicity, promotions, grassroots, partnerships, creative content and advertising, digital/social media, and influencer marketing.
Summary/Objective
The Coordinator will perform administrative support and assist in executing publicity, promotion and grassroots marketing campaigns specifically aimed at multicultural consumers for major motion pictures, television shows and other entertainment properties.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prioritize and execute day-to-day publicity and promotional directives assigned by leadership, keeping them informed on the status of projects on a regular basis
- Pitch and procure press coverage across assigned multicultural television, radio, print, and online outlets, as well as select bloggers and influencers
- Provide pitching, planning and staffing support for publicity and promotional activities, including phone interviews, PA tours, in-studio appearances, press days, junkets, premieres, press and promotional screenings, and events as needed
- Track publicity and promotions coverage across all platforms in national and regional outlets and compile clips, links, air checks, media values and impressions for inclusion in daily breaks, as well as in weekly and final reports
- Help develop and/or compile client related communications and materials, including publicity plans, client/talent schedules, pitch emails, status reports/updates, final reports, promotional screening reports, press screening reactions, and event recaps, ensuring they are submitted in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist in researching campaign elements and associated costs for proposals and plans, including but not limited to applicable media outlets, influencers, bloggers, alternative angles, key events, word-of-mouth groups, community organizations, retail locations, HBCU opportunities, and more
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, staff, media partners, celebrities, influencers, community organizations, and vendors
- Remain tuned-in to the multicultural market and media landscape
- Maintain a clean and up-to-date media and word-of-mouth database, while researching and expanding partnerships with new outlets and influencers
- Handle administrative duties for the departments, including vendor and client billing processes, expense reports, shipping, time sheets, setting/organizing meetings, and other tasks as needed
- Coordinate and participate in brainstorms sessions, contributing fresh, creative, and executable ideas
Required Skills/Abilities
- Position is based in Los Angeles and applicants must be in Los Angeles area
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of office administration and clerical procedures.
- Typing of 50 words per minute.
- Excellent grammar and usage.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to work outside of traditional working hours, as business needs dictate, with some overtime and weekend work.
- Dedication to continuous learning as best practices and new technologies evolve.
- Proficient with G Suite (Gmail), Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
- Ability to quickly learn new computer applications and updated software.
