SUMMARY:
The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION ensures year round implementation of camp services at Arizona Science Center to inspire, educate, and engage curious minds through science. They provide program management of content, logistics, and personnel of CAMP INNOVATION. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION will develop, oversee and deliver program materials for CAMP INNOVATION and other programs as directed by the Director of CAMP INNOVATION. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION will also lead purchasing, materials management, and grant data collection. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION will be in charge of camp content, pedagogy, and will supervise personnel for all programming as listed above. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION may also provide professional development workshops as needed with camp staff, educators and community members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Camp Personnel
- Maintains a safe, friendly, and fun learning environment.
- Provides ongoing training and professional development to Camp Instructors, Teen Interns, and Camp Volunteers on programming curriculum, best practices, etc.
- Leads the Teen Summer Camp Intern program including advertisement, recruitment, interviewing, monitoring, and evaluating interns.
- Observes and provides feedback on instruction throughout the year to ensure high quality camp instruction and support.
- Oversees University Interns when present during camps
- Schedules and manages staff, interns, and volunteers for CAMP INNOVATION programming
- Approves and manages onsite employee time cards through TriNet portal
- Camp Content
- Designs and develops student/youth programming for CAMP INNOVATION throughout the year, creating new camp content per year.
- Collaborates with other areas and other organizations to develop content specific camp programming.
- Camp Logistics
- Works with supervisor in the development, coordination, and implementation of all onsite CAMP INNOVATION programming, including grant-funded programs.
- Manages scholarship requests and awards scholarships based on funding.
- Maintains the CAMP INNOVATION budget by overseeing the purchasing, management of inventory, and organization of supplies for all Onsite CAMP INNOVATION programs.
- Distributes, collects, databases, and provides summary analysis of evaluations and assesses effectiveness of programming in collaboration with supervisors.
- Collaborates with Marketing, Facilities, Membership, and other departments/teams to achieve project goals.
- Community Engagement
- Communicates effectively with parents, children, staff, and other community stakeholders
- Represents Arizona Science Center within the community including fairs, conferences, and other events to advertise for CAMP INNOVATION on weekdays and some weekends.
- Performs additional duties and tasks as required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include planning, assigning, delegating and directing work for volunteers, interns, and seasonal staff. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION is responsible for the supervision and training of seasonal camp instructors, camp assistants, interns, and volunteers. The Manager of Onsite CAMP INNOVATION carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and bringing major decisions or issues to the Director of CAMP INNOVATION.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement of BA/BS or equivalent; a minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education/experience. Teaching experience in the informal or formal setting preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- A science, education, camp and/or museum background is highly preferred
- Experience engaging people in interactive and hands-on learning experiences
- Experience working in an educational setting with a variety of audiences
- Experience in planning and coordinating activities
- Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Must obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
- Must obtain a food handler’s card
