SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior VP of Finance to join our Executive Leadership Team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of the Arizona Science Center, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting our mission to inspire a lifelong love of science in our community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
FINANCIAL STRATEGY
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Arizona Science Center overall goals and objectives.
- Meet annual business plan objectives.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT
- Lead the operating and capital budgeting process.
- Monitor financial performance.
- Provide regular reports to senior management and the Board of Trustees.
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support decision-making processes.
PROJECT ACCOUNTING
- Support project planning and development from a financial perspective including financing alternative, contract review and business case development.
ANALYTICS
- Lead the Analytics team to provide key data collection and analysis informing decision making and process improvement throughout Arizona Science Center.
AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors to plan and execute audit reporting requirements.
- Maintain internal controls through policy development and execution.
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, proposing solutions to safeguard the Organization’s financial stability including contract management and insurance requirements.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and strategic partnerships.
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM
- Actively participate in executive leadership team meetings, contributing financial expertise to overall organizational strategy.
SUPPORT BOARD GOVERNANCE
- Lead planning and delivery for Finance and Business Affairs and Audit Board Committees.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA required
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
