SUMMARY
The Guest Sales and Services (GSS) Associate provides exceptional front-line customer service to Science Center guests at the admission counter. The GSS Associate is the customer's first contact, whether welcoming guests and answering questions at the Help Desk, responding to emails, answering phone calls, or facilitating events, groups, and other attractions. The GSS Associate will also be the first source of general information to the Science Center guests regarding tickets, shows, and special events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Maintain an outgoing and friendly demeanor when interacting with guests of all ages.
- Find success working with/in a team.
- Utilize all relevant sales techniques and tools at our Admissions Zone to drive profitable growth.
- Share knowledge of all levels of membership Arizona Science Center has, and the benefits offered..
- Confidently offer our guests all that ASC has to offer, and be able to enthusiastically explain all current attractions, including but not limited to:
- Current giant screen theater movies, planetarium shows, traveling exhibitions, daily demonstrations, Center-wide events, and all other Center galleries and offerings
- Be accurate and prompt in handling financial admission transactions which include cash, checks, and credit card processing.
- Respond to guest needs swiftly and effectively.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include both weekday and weekend shifts.
- Adapt to various roles as needed during shifts, including:
- Group Greeter, Admission Zone, Information Zone, Membership Zone, Help Desk, ScienceShop, SkyCycle, events staff, and other tasks as needed
- Comfortably escalate issues through the appropriate channels to ensure a prompt and satisfactory resolution to the guest and the organization, when necessary.
- Follow and improve upon customized steps of the sale.
- Consistently work to an overall sales goal as directed by supervisor.
- Perform all other tasks as required by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- At least one year of guest service and cash handling experience is preferred.
