The Lovaas Institute is currently seeking entry-level and experienced technicians to provide primarily school-based treatment to our clients using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is a part-time position. Must be available Monday - Friday 8AM-3PM. Occasional availability after 3pm is a plus. 15-25 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary interventionist in the education/treatment of children with autism.
  • Implement treatment plans to support acquisition of social, communication, academic and daily living skills.
  • Assist with assessment and implementation of behavior management plans; record and help analyze data on a daily basis.
  • Participate in group and individualized training meetings on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

  • Energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, creative, and dependable.
  • Comfortable working with children who display behavior challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or education preferred.
  • Some positions available to those who have completed at least two years of undergraduate study (AA degree or a minimum of 48 college semester credit).
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver license.

Availability:

  • Specific schedules will depend upon coordinating client’s and employee’s availability.
  • Candidates must have open availability from 8-3pm Monday-Friday. Additional afternoon availability is a plus, but not required.
  • Hours during fall and winter school breaks will decrease to approximately 10-12 hours/week.
  • Intent to remain invested in the position for a minimum of one year.
  • There may be potential for this position to move into a full time position in the future based on client availability and performance. 

Locations:

  • Current positions are available throughout the Mid-City area of Los Angeles including Hollywood, Korea Town, Downtown, Inglewood, Downey and adjacent neighborhoods.
  •  Due to conditions related to the ongoing pandemic, some hours may be provided via distance learning/telehealth.
  • Additional training online and from time-to-time in our office headquarters in Culver City.

Benefits / Compensation:

  • The pay range for the Bachelor's level ABA therapist is $17-$20 per hour dependent upon experience in the field (and after completing the initial one-month training period).
  • Some positions for undergraduates are available, as well.
  • Paid travel time between client locations at the full regular hourly rate plus mileage reimbursement.
  • Paid sick time for all employees.
