The Director, content operations will oversee DistroKid’s growing content operations division, including content operations, quality control/anti-fraud, user-generated content monetization, and anti-infringement teams

What You Will Do

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the following teams: quality control, content operations, user-generated content monetization, anti-infringement, and anti-fraud.

  • Maintains positive relationships with strategic partners, as well as guideline and content compliance to ensure DistroKid consistently ranks as a top tier partner of streaming services, user-generated content platforms and more.

  • Advocates cross-departmentally using data and influence for product and process changes that improve content management for DistroKid artists and partners.

  • Leads continuous improvement efforts that maintain consistent adherence to team SLAs and partner requirements.

  • Participates in the hiring and training of departmental managers.

  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental managers.

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 3+ yrs experience in a related role within the music industry (distribution experience a strong plus), and 2+ yrs working directly with relevant counterparts at DSPs (e.g., Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Facebook, etc).

  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to discover trends with limited and often anecdotal information.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication in both casual and professional settings.

  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with XML/DDEX
