Position & Responsibilities:
As a data scientist, you will leverage ActivTrak’s data and infrastructure to research, build and deploy models and metrics that provide unique insights to our users. Having strong engineering fundamentals, you need not rely on a csv as your data source, but are able to integrate with a variety of different production sources to get the data your models need. As part of the larger ActivTrak team, you will be working in a close-knit team that is expected to code to scale to hundreds of millions of events per day, mine petabytes of existing data, and support our 150,000+ users as we disrupt the productivity analytics industry. You will be collaborating with teams across engineering and the business to help provide insights and answers to our customers’ most pressing questions.
Skills & Experience:
Creative research-oriented thinker with a bias toward engineering
Experience bringing machine learning in Python or R to production at scale
Familiarity with user event data analysis
Time series analysis
Numerical bayesian methods
Hidden state models
SQL proficiency
pandas or dplyr
Parallel dataframes with Dask or Spark is a plus
Experience with feature stores is a plus
API design/implementation (e.g. Microservices, REST, etc)
Experience in cloud environments (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
Docker/Containers, Kubernetes
Serverless deployment scenarios
Experience with batch and stream data processing
Agile development
Knowledge of SDLC and best practices
Software source control system, such as Git
