Position & Responsibilities:

As a lead backend engineer, you will be a founding member of our tier three support team focused on resolving customer issues, handling escalations, and building technical capital in the backend of the application. This position reports to the engineering organization. As a lead backend developer, you are in charge of ensuring that ActivTrak stays online, scales to handle load, and is responsive to the demands of the business. Working in a close-knit team you will be expected to code to scale to hundreds of millions of events per day, leverage our petabyte+ of existing data, and support our 150,000+ users as we disrupt the productivity analytics industry. You will work closely with support engineers, other developers, product management, and engineering leadership to ensure the quality of our application and customer happiness supports our company vision. 

Skills & Experience:

  • C# knowledge (e.g. Reflection, Lambda, LINQ, Multithreading)

  • Data Modeling design

  • API design/implementation (e.g. Microservices, REST, etc)

  • Serialization (e.g. JSON, XML)

  • Strong SQL experience

  • Experience in cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform)

  • Docker/Containers, Kubernetes

  • Experience with batch and stream data processing

  • Familiarity with bringing Machine Learning to production at scale

  • .NET core

  • Agile development

  • Visual Studio

  • Knowledge Software Development Lifecyle and software development best practices

  • Software source control system, such as Git
