Resource Center Manager - Faribault
Community Action Center (CAC) is a community-based, non-profit, human services organization that provides and advocates for the basic needs of people and families throughout Rice County. Its programs create a robust safety net for low-income families and include food access, housing, employment services, clothing, emergency assistance, youth services, transportation, health care assistance, and more.
CAC’s resources and staff are integral parts of their communities and include partnerships with schools, businesses, faith communities, and other organizations. This extensive local network allows CAC to pursue community-engaged solutions, prioritize partnerships, and collaborate with thousands of volunteers. Currently, we are looking for a Resource Center Manager to help support the community-responsive work of CAC.
Job Title: Resource Center Manager
Reports To: Program Director
Primary Work Location: Faribault Resource Center, with occasional travel to other CAC locations and community partner sites throughout Rice County.
FLSA Status: Exempt, Salaried, Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 annually
Position Summary
The Resource Center Manager will support the culture of a community-based, person-centered, and trauma-responsive organization. This position will oversee the Faribault Resource Center, providing leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to Community Advocate staff. The position balances operational oversight with direct participant engagement to ensure high-quality services that support individuals and families experiencing poverty and crisis. CAC is committed to trauma-responsive service delivery. The Resource Center Manager models and promotes practices that create safety, trust, empowerment, and connection for participants, volunteers, and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties – CAC’s success is based on the flexibility of its staff and volunteers to dynamically adjust to meet the needs of the community. The primary responsibilities for this job include:
Leadership and Staff Supervision

Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to Community Advocate staff

Foster a positive, collaborative, and trauma-responsive team culture

Conduct onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and ongoing staff development

Provide timely guidance regarding best practices, organizational policies, and participant service delivery

Support employee engagement, professional growth, and accountability
-
Address workplace concerns, performance issues, and conflict resolution in accordance with CAC policies

Meet regularly with organizational leadership to support agency goals and initiatives
Resource Center Operations

Oversee daily operations of the Faribault Resource Center

Ensure adequate staffing and schedule coverage to meet participant needs
-
Monitor service delivery to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with program requirements

Maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for participants, staff, volunteers, and visitors

Ensure adherence to CAC policies, procedures, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards

Support program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts
Program Administration and Community Engagement

Assist with administration of grants, contracts, initiatives, and program requirements

Support data collection, documentation, reporting, and outcome measurement activities

Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Collaborate with leadership to identify emerging community needs and develop responsive programming

Support students and interns through service-learning, internship, and educational opportunities
Participant Services and Advocacy

Model high-quality, participant-centered, and trauma-responsive services

Develop meaningful relationships with community members seeking assistance
-
Provide direct support, advocacy, and case management services as needed

Assist participants in navigating community resources and systems

Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and intervention when appropriate

Advocate for participants and help amplify participant voices within the community and service systems

Maintain accurate participant records and documentation in accordance with agency standards
General Responsibilities

Employ trauma-responsive, person-centered care practices to create a safe and healing space, build relationships, foster agency and invest in the long-term wellbeing of participants

Utilize crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills to support individuals and families in need

Follow all mandated reporting laws for vulnerable adults as well as child abuse and neglect

Attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled organization and team meetings and trainings

Perform other duties as assigned to support CAC's mission and evolving community needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Understanding of social services and community resources
-
Strong leadership, decision-making and problem solving skills

Bachelor’s degree in human services field/related field OR four years of experience in related field

Experience working with individuals and families experiencing poverty, crisis, or housing instability
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali
-
License in social work or related field
-
Strong knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders, and crisis intervention practices

Experience working with individuals experiencing housing insecurity
-
Supervisory or management experience, preferably in a human services environment

Experience implementing trauma-responsive and participant-centered service models

Strong knowledge of the Faribault community and its resources

Proficient in Google Suite
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota driver’s license

Must possess Personal Auto Insurance

Complete all required background and MVR checks
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, use hands to write, and sit for prolonged periods at a desk working on a computer. Employees are subject to a minimal noise level.

Compensation and Benefits
The position is designed as a full time, 40 hours/week, exempt position with a starting annual salary range of $60,000 to $70,000. CAC offers flexible work arrangements, professional development opportunities and a chance to creatively build and implement innovative ideas.
