The Black Organizing Project (BOP) is a Black member-led community organization working for racial, social, and economic justice through grassroots organizing and community-building in Oakland, California and across the Bay Area. You skillfully manage remote and on-site office systems and are ready to bring your A-game to the next phase of BOP’s critical work for justice.
Primary roles and responsibilities
Administrative
Scheduling and coordinating interviews, events and similar activities
Processing monthly expense reports
Running month-end reports for bookkeeper
Booking travel/ lodging for staff, board and members
Assist with new hire onboarding
Various other administrative support tasks
Coordinating staff professional development and political education
Office
Maintaining supply and office equipment inventories
Sending and receiving mail and packages
Equipment inventory and management
Managing storage room and van usage
Managing all aspects of the office upkeep
Program
Support with logistics for meetings
Various other support tasks
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience of managing an office
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Platform, familiar with using a database
Ability to adapt to different personalities and changing situations
Ability to be solution oriented
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and well organized
Self motivated- ability to work and think independently
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays
Must have access to reliable transportation
Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position with a 60-day probationary period. Salary range is $55K- $65K depending on experience.

Accrue 14 vacation days in the first year with incremental increases thereafter, 7 sick days annually, 14 paid holidays, 2 unrestricted floating holidays

3 paid seasonal closures; 1 week long break in spring, 1 week long break in summer and 1 in winter between Christmas and New Year’s Day
Fully paid 4-week sabbatical program after 5 years with the organization
