About the role:

The VP of Planning and Allocation will be responsible for leading the overall inventory strategy across all of Rhone’s channels including eCommerce, Wholesale, Retail (full price and outlet), and Marketplace.  They will be responsible for optimizing sales, margin, and inventory turnover through effective planning, forecasting, and inventory management and will play an important role in the transformation of processes, systems, and methods of working to drive this rapidly growing business, now both Men’s and Women’s.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Inventory Planning function for all Rhone revenue channels through the entire product lifecycle to achieve key inventory and profitability goals.  

  • In partnership with the Merchandising team, develop and implement inventory planning strategies aligned with Rhone’s sales and margin goals, market trends, and customer demand.  

  • Create monthly financial plans at division, category, and season code levels for fiscal time periods.

  • Manage the inventory liquidation process by optimizing our omni-channel distribution, balancing seasonal liabilities and product conversion strategies.  Partner with merchandising on life cycle management, balancing ecommerce promotional opportunities, outlet seasonal introductions and maximizing margin recovery.  

  • Collaborate with Ecommerce, Retail, and Wholesale teams to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities; create style level demand plans in partnership with channel leaders; closely monitor changes in demand and course correct with product development to maximize selling trends where necessary.

  • Maximize newly adopted technology to leverage historical data, AI and market insight for current and expected trends to inform inventory buys.  Lead quarterly Investment review.

  • Lead monthly S&OP meeting with cross functional leadership team to provide sales and monthly inventory insights.  Guide the team on forward looking forecasts for key categories and franchises, including anticipated inventory supply to support key initiatives. 

  • Work with Rhone’s leadership team and other key partners to develop, establish and improve processes and tools, and that support a multi-channel business

  • Lead, develop, and manage direct reports to support succession planning initiatives. 

What you’ll bring:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in inventory planning and/or other analytic field 

  • Experience leading an omni-channel business including wholesale, Ecommerce, full price retail and outlet retail; apparel experience preferred

  • 8+ years supervisory role/experience managing people with proven ability to build relationships and lead and develop teams

  • Strong command and business acumen, highly analytical and curious and proficient in forecasting, financial analysis, and inventory management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills including presenting complex material 

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to to work collaboratively and cross-functionally

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver results

  • An entrepreneurial attitude, and a passion for working on fast-paced, dynamic teams

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Experience with merchandise planning software and tools a plus
