About the role:

The Construction Manager will support the Retail Project Manager and be responsible for the retrofitting of our existing retail stores in preparation for our Women’s launch this year.   This is a contracted position with an option to convert to permanent. 

What you’ll do:

  • Support the women’s expansion across all retail stores.

  • Oversee and manage the refresh and renovation projects, from concept to execution.

  • Manage timelines and budgets for the retrofit projects.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of bidding packages, and hiring General Contractors, Millworkers, and Suppliers, through qualification of the competitive bidding process.

  • Review all proposals and invoices, challenge as needed to maintain standards and meet goals. Surface all change orders/budget + timeline variances immediately.

  • Liaise with LL and obtain necessary approvals and construction documents.

  • Manage architects, MEP firms, GCs, and any other external parties for the successful completion of the retrofit projects.

  • Produce weekly tracking and update reports for company visibility.

  • Collaborate with internal partners as needed and ensure all project milestones are met.

  • Perform periodic site visits and inspect the progress of projects.

  • Provide proactive resolution to field issues, concerns and conflicts.

  • Support the retail team as needed.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 5 years of experience in project management with a strong construction background

  • Computer literate with capability in email, Microsoft Office, and related business and communication tools

  • Basic AutoCad – ability to prepare space plans and furnishing layouts

  • Strong understanding of Retail and Operational excellence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines

  • Experience working independently in an ambiguous environment with minimal supervision

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to travel extensively, flexible scheduling and work weekends when necessary

  • Ability to lift boxes / weight of up to 30lb

Job Type: Temporary Contract - 6 months
