About the role:
The Technical Designer will work hand in hand with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and the Merchandising, Design & Product Development/Production Teams to facilitate the technical execution of products in all categories for multiple seasons- ensuring the accuracy of product measurements, quality and construction. The ideal candidate has an eye for design, keen attention to detail, and experience building performance apparel to achieve optimum fit, form and function as well as consistency. The Technical Designer is organized and hardworking with the ability to perform all functions of the job quickly and efficiently.
What you’ll do:

Partner with Merchandising, Design and Product Development Teams overseeing all aspects of Technical Design to ensure excellence, attention to detail and accuracy in the creation of all new styles

Create and update tech packs (TPs) in conjunction with Design - including measurements, construction and grading - using Illustrator, Excel and Rhone’s PLM tools with overall quality top of mind

Follow through development process from inception to customer reception- receive feedback as an opportunity for improvement

Organize and lead the Fit Session- effectively articulate, influence, communicate and convey necessary fit comments and corrections to Suppliers with strong verbal and written communication skills

Work independently on stylesng from initial pass-off through production- reviewing all samples to communicate accurate revisions

Participation in daily tasks, including but not limited to measuring garments, assisting in fittings, and sending fit comments to oversea vendors with an attention to detail in construction and workmanship

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a fast paced environment

Communicate with the Design/ PD Team to call out issues which may prevent timely fit and quality approval that impact deliveries

Work with our Oversea Partner Specialists to resolve issues

Track Proto & PP Samples, and communicate delays w/ the necessary teams

Organize Proto to PPS samples

Perform other technical design related duties, as needed
What you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
-
Deep understanding of performance fabrics and technical details for active and performance apparel
-
10+ years Technical Design experience on a high functioning performance apparel team

Strong computer skills- Adobe Suite especially Illustrator and Microsoft Suite especially Excel as well as experience with PLM
-
Established time management and organization skills with a high degree of attention to detail

Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation and a positive attitude in a high pressure, fast paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle a large volume of new style development

Capability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively to achieve goals including resolving conflict to get to a decision

Ability to travel globally and participate in weekly AM/ PM calls to Suppliers
