About the role:

This is a pivotal time for Rhone. We are seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager who will play a vital role in our company's journey to becoming a "public ready" brand.  We are experiencing high growth and need a finance leader who can help us build controls, processes, and reporting rigor to support a future transaction.  In this position, you will oversee all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and building compliance with public reporting requirements.  Your expertise in controls and building processes will be crucial as you lead the AP, AR, and monthly close while preparing reports to support our financial statements. Working closely with the Sr Director of Finance & Accounting and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the analysis and reconciliation of accounts and help develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, controls, and process improvement, with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.


What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Manage and oversee all treasury functions, including cash management, banking relationships, and financial risk management.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes.

  • Continuously seek to improve system efficiencies and business practices.

  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

  • Interact with stakeholders at all levels to produce timely, accurate month-end close, internal management reports, and annual reports.

  • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, financial statements, and chart of accounts, with the authority to classify and book all transactions appropriately.

  • Analyze statutory accounting practices, regulations, and guidance to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Make recommendations for changes as needed, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and implementing fraud prevention techniques.

  • Develop and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and collaboration.

  • Assist in compiling information for tax return preparation.


What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.

  • Prior experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm.

  • Strong understanding of controls, processes, and internal audit requirements.

  • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial management systems and tools: Microsoft Office, GSuite, and ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).

  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Availability during weekends and nights during peak periods
