About the role:
The Product development and Production associate will play an integral part in coordinating style development from initial concept through to production. Candidates should be highly detail-oriented, self motivated, have strong problem solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment. This position requires 3-5 years of product development experience and will report to the product development and production manager.
What you’ll do:
Daily communication with cross functional partners and local and international vendors
Tech pack liaison between design team and vendors
Initiating, tracking and organizing of all samples, lab dips, trims, strike offs
Maintaining all charts/reports related to the product development process
Proto, SMS, wear test sample order initiation and tracking
Issue and maintain Purchase orders
Assist in fabric and trim sourcing when needed
Review factory WIPs weekly
Assist pd and production manager in achieving target IMU goals
Adhere to development calendar deadlines to ensure all key milestone dates are achieved
Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross functional team, design, tech design, production and merchandising
Assist Pd and production manager in other tasks as required
What you’ll bring:
3-5 years experience in a similar apparel product development role
Understanding of garment construction and product costing
Ability to prioritize workload to ensure all deadlines are met
Experience with PLM software and proficient in microsoft office
Experience with working with international vendors
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with an attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Capability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively to achieve goals
Can adapt to a small company work culture and the fast paced environment
Strong problem solving skills
Highly motivated and enthusiastic
Able to multitask and shift priorities efficiently and effectively
