About the role:

As our company grows, our finance team is growing too! We’re looking for a strong staff accountant to join our tightly knit team in Stamford, CT. The Staff Accountant is an ‘athlete’ who thrives in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. As an integral part of our “FiOps” (Finance and Operations) team, you will support both day-today, month end close and long-term projects across all channels including (but not limited to) Rhone.com, Wholesale, Retail, and Amazon. This person will not only have strong general accounting knowledge and skills, but also be comfortable working with large data sets and reconciling high volume accounts.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare bank and cash holding reconciliations often focused on high volume accounts

  • Responsible for identifying systematic transaction failures across multiple platforms and perform corrective actions as needed

  • Book accounting entries, including general journal, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and inventory

  • Assist with the preparation of timely and complete financial statements

  • Perform month/quarter/year-end financial close activities 

  • Assist with the preparation of recurring reports to include: Cash Flow Analysis, Customer Metrics, Dashboards, Financial Metrics and Statements

  • Participate in activities related to the proper costing, cost analysis and calculations

  • Participate in special projects and assignments as needed with the opportunity to propose, implement, and maintain process improvements

What you’ll bring:

  • 1-2 years professional accounting experience preferred

  • You are computer savvy, Excel proficient, data minded and always curious

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GSuite, and ERP systems required (NetSuite preferred)

  • You are a self-starter capable of operating semi-autonomously but always collaboratively 

  • You are a team player who is not afraid to take on additional assignments that appear above or beneath you

  • You have strong interpersonal communication skills, particularly in delivering data-driven insights with the ability to communicate openly and easily

  • You can prioritize, structure, and manage complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders 

  • You have impeccable attention to detail

  • Available during weekends and nights during peak promotional periods

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field
