Role Description:

 

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to supervise, manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial reports and statements while establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. The Accounting Manager needs to have highly technical knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, internal controls, practices, standards, laws and regulations. With the company being in start-up mode, this role needs to operate in a constantly changing environment where the future will look very different than the current. This role will be responsible for building a strong and dynamic accounting team that can adjust quickly to meet changing demands. We are also looking for someone to work closely with our financial management team to support the overall financial operations of the company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department to include but not limited to month and end-year close, accounts payables/receivables, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and capital assets reconciliations.
  • Build and supervise a dynamic team in an ever-changing environment.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits and tax filings.
  • Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Provide accounting information and recommendations to help support strategic plans and reviews.
  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
  • Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA preferred
  • Proven experience in building dynamic teams in challenging environments
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
