Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Intern to join our dynamic Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support, networking, and systems management in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for clients under supervision.
- Provide first-level support by resolving basic technical problems and escalating complex issues to senior staff.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, backups, and system monitoring.
- Assist with onboarding and configuring new devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Learn and use ticketing systems to log and track support requests.
- Support the setup and management of user accounts and permissions in Active Directory and other tools.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure IT services meet client expectations and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Participate in documenting processes, solutions, and technical guides for internal use.
- Shadow senior technicians on client site visits and remote support sessions.
- Stay current on emerging IT trends and technologies relevant to the MSP industry.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common IT tools.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs is a plus.
- Strong interest in IT support, networking, or systems administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with basic hardware setup and troubleshooting (e.g., desktops, printers, routers).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems or IT service management tools.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ (not required but a bonus).
