Job Summary

The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to all business units and teams within the US and Canadian entities. Responsibilities include contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property licensing, data privacy, regulatory compliance (with emphasis on consumer law), litigation management, corporate governance, and employment law matters.  The role entails international coverage, with the Company having significant operations and/or sales in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Draft and negotiate commercial contracts relating to the retail distribution of video surveillance products and solutions

·         Provide general legal guidance to the Company’s sales and marketing functions

·         Oversee the Company’s data privacy compliance program

·         Manage the Company’s compliance with consumer protection laws

·         Oversee the Company’s risk management program

·         Assist with M&A, employment law, intellectual property, and real estate matters as needed

Required Education and Experience

·         Juris doctorate degree from a nationally recognized law school

·         License to practice law in the US

·         Minimum eight to ten years' experience practicing corporate law with at least some of that time spent at a major law firm

·         Experience providing legal support to a consumer electronics business

·         Experience providing legal support to a business operating internationally in the United States and European Union

·         Extensive knowledge of and past experience advising on data privacy laws

·         Excellent communication and writing skills

 

Compensation

Dahua Technology is offering an attractive base salary plus bonus, depending on experience.
