Job Summary

The HR & Payroll Specialist position will work as part of the Human Resources team responsible for processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis for 200+ Team Members in the United States and Canada. Additionally, this role will be responsible for completing HR coordinator/administrative tasks to support all Human Resources functions. The HR & Payroll Specialist must ensure accurate processing of company payroll, as well as provide accurate and timely reporting, and support our team in our rapidly growing business. Must possess strong communication skills and a willingness to develop strong relationships with employees, candidates, and management

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing payroll on bi-weekly basis, including review of team member timesheets, audits, processing bonus, commission and retro payments for team members.
  • Research, analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Process final paychecks, severance payments, stop-payments, direct deposit reversals, off-cycle pay runs and voids as needed.
  • Process team member changes and prepare necessary documentation for team member notification and record keeping.
  • Prepare and maintain team member files in compliance with applicable laws and audit guidelines. Retrieve Team Member information from files as needed.
  • Respond to team member inquires in a timely manner including pay discrepancies and general questions around policies.
  • Responsible for benefits administration and maintenance for Canada employees
  • Prepare reports (both ad-hoc and routine) for Human Resources and Leadership as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, accounting or human resources.
  • 1 year experience processing payroll preferably. Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Ceridian and TriNet Payroll Experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficient
  • Detail oriented with effective communication skills are required, both written and verbal
  • Must be bilingual Mandarin. Fluent in writing and reading Simplified Chinese.
