Physical Therapist Clinician
Location: Hybrid telehealth and in-person - Kansas
Job Title: Physical Therapist Clinician, Site Lead
Job Type: Full-time
About Aware Health
We are a forward-thinking health tech startup transforming the delivery of healthcare, starting with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Nearly 50% of the workforce experiences MSK pain, from acute issues like muscle strains to chronic conditions. Unfortunately, many are misdiagnosed and treated passively with opioids, injections, or surgery, often leading to unnecessary risks and costs.
At Aware Health, physical therapists lead the care process, typically seeing patients first. Our platform ensures people receive the right level of care, feel supported, and avoid unnecessary tests, medications, and procedures. This modern approach to preventing, diagnosing, and treating MSK pain has led to faster recoveries, better patient outcomes, and up to 30% cost savings for self-funded employers.
The Role:
We’re looking for a physical therapist clinician who loves connecting with people, problem-solving, and thinking creatively when it comes to patient care and treatment. Adaptability, strong communication, and clinical excellence are essential. You’ll diagnose and treat patients virtually while navigating the unique challenges of telehealth in a startup setting. This role requires flexibility and a growth mindset, as processes, tools, and workflows are constantly evolving. You’ll play a key part in shaping the future of virtual MSK care, collaborating with a team that values innovation and patient-centered care. For this clinical role, we’re seeking a Doctor of Physical Therapy based in Kansas who is willing to travel monthly for onsite treatment and events.
Clinical skills:

-
Ability to triage clients with comprehensive differential diagnosis and screening to rule out non-musculoskeletal causes and the need for referral.
-
Has comprehensive knowledge of clinical prediction rules and indications that warrant immediate need for radiology to service evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal dysfunction.
-
Feels comfortable guiding clients through both health and wellness, as well as mental wellness programs.

Ability to supplement imaging findings to educate clients better.
-
Demonstrates competence in educating clients on diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plans.

-

-
