Essential Job Functions:
The successful candidate will support identification and development of new processes, technology transfers and transformative projects with major clients. Strong leadership skills are required to manage projects that are broad in both scope and technical aspects. The successful candidate must be experienced in accountability, managing challenging timelines and demonstrate the ability to represent the team’s work at a senior level. Responsibility spans cross-functional internal networks and external partnerships, requiring effective communication and relationship building skills as well as a proven ability to support and nurture a culture which allows for exchange of ideas, information and support across the business.
The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual who can work effectively on a broad range of projects with a diverse, high functioning team. Prior experience in the field of Cell and Gene Therapies is a plus. This full-time position is located in Louisville, CO and provides an exciting and dynamic opportunity for a candidate who is looking to advance their skills and career.
● Strong background in immunology and PSC biology
● Experience with cell characterization analyses
● Project and timelines management with prioritization based on value added
● Experiment conception, proposal preparation, data analysis and presentation to colleagues and external collaborators
● SOP and writing and reviewing
● Mentoring and guiding junior technical members of the team
● Fostering a continuous improvement mindset within the organization, ensuring continued focus on capacity planning and optimized workflows
Education and Experience:
● PhD in immunology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, cell biology, and 5+ years of R&D experience or MSc degree in a similar field and 8+ years of R&D experience
● Excellent communication and cross-site collaborator. Strong written and oral communication skills with capacity to clearly convey project plans to collaborators and audiences with diverse backgrounds.
● Experience in client facing roles and responsibilities.
● Extensive knowledge of establishing, optimizing and troubleshooting non-viral gene editing methodologies using CRISPR-based technologies.
● Experience in high-throughput screening processes and supporting analytic methods.
● Extensive experience in cell-based techniques especially in human PSCs, primary immune human cells and, progenitor and/or stem cells.
● Demonstrated experience employing analytical tools for cell characterization including flow cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, and functional cell-based assays.
● Proven ability to plan multifactorial experiments, execute and analyze data.
● Excellent analytical thinking skills including problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution identification.
● Strong statistical understanding. Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) approaches is an asset.
● Demonstrated ability to author and review SOPs and reports with an ability to accurately document laboratory procedures and experimental plans with keen attention to detail.
● Excellent organizational skills and effective time and project management.
● Demonstrates initiative implementing lean operating practices and has a continuous improvement mindset. Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma is an asset.
