Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced IT Manager/Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both desktop support and cloud-based devOps engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, including support of employees’ laptops (primarily Apple) and lab computers, administration of enterprise software, and network security. You will also be responsible for supporting our cloud infrastructure (AWS) and implementing our cloud ops strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support to employees, including hardware and software troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of Apple laptops.

  • Develop and maintain Apple laptop images and configurations.

  • Manage Google Workspace and other enterprise cloud applications to ensure a consistent user experience and proper information organization across the company.

  • Implement and maintain security measures for desktop systems and user accounts.

  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security.

  • Deploy and manage cloud-based applications using DevOps best practices.

  • Work with software development teams to ensure applications are cloud-ready.

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications for performance and availability issues.

  • Provide guidance and support to Data Science and Bioinformatics personnel on cloud-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in desktop and network support and administration of Apple laptops.

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Experience with Google Workspace and Confluence is a plus.

  • Experience with DevOps methodologies including CI/CD.

  • Proficiency programming in Python.

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS is preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
