Position Description:

We’re seeking a highly motivated, performance driven individual with strong cost analysis experience to work closely with our Government client in the Northern Virginia area. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills. Financial management and program management experience are also preferred.

Specific Duties:

The Cost Analyst position will include, but not be limited to, the following capabilities:

  • Lead and manage program office and life-cycle cost estimate activities
  • Lead, develop, update, and apply mathematical and logical methodologies for estimating program costs
  • Lead, develop, update, manipulate, and maintain cost and affordability models
  • Lead efforts in collecting, normalizing, and analyzing complex data
  • Build and defend budget requirements
  • Forecast future funding needs
  • Evaluate contracting strategy and courses of action
  • Conduct planning for acquisition of capabilities
  • Identify sustainment cost impacts of acquisition decisions
  • Identify interface maintenance funding requirements for all affected platforms/systems
  • Manage solution delivery to a baselined schedule
  • Provide a basis and supporting materials for briefings to management at the executive and oversight levels for all affected program/project funding requirements
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet organizational and project goals
  • Have a strong understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition process
  • Lead in the preparation of briefing materials and other communications packages presenting the results of analysis
  • Communicate and work with diverse organizations and representatives for data collection, analysis, and results presentation
  • Provide thought leadership clearly demonstrating an understanding of the customer mission and innovative ideas to address business challenges of the customer

Minimum Required Education/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics
  • 5+ years of DoD cost estimating experience
  • Certified Cost Estimator / Analyst (CCEA) or Professional cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision
  • Experience presenting analytical results to senior leaders/stakeholders
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Possession of excellent data gathering and analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • US Citizenship is required

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) experience is preferred 
  • Proficiency with uncertainty/risk software packages like Crystal Ball or SEER for IT
