The Sr. Contracts Manager will lead and manage and drive the process of contract negotiation and build out from inception to execution contract execution for DSD. The role will solely focus on labor and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract agreements for the business at DSD.  The role will coordinate with cross-functional internal team members to ensure our contractors move through the contract process efficiently and effectively, with a particular focus on supporting EPC agreements and projects from award through contract execution. This will include establishing strong, efficient processes to serve and benefit both internal and external stakeholders as well as managing individual contracts to ensure swift execution. In addition, the Sr. Contracts Manager will play a vital role in helping to evolve and grow the team’s contract process in collaboration with operations and legal team leadership.

The Sr. Contracts Manager will be responsible for assisting in the improvement of the contracts process to create a scalable solution to achieve our business goals and help our DSD successfully contract EPC’s. This position will work closely with the DSD internal legal, operations, development and construction departments.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Sr. Contracts Manager for DSD, you will lead contracting, with a focus on the following responsibilities:

 

  • Managing EPC contract agreements pre and post award from inception through contract execution to ensure swift closing.
  • Work with legal and commercial teams (as technical leads) to lead and drive the contract negation process while working with both teams to finalize negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Holding and running regular legal working calls including calls with outside counsel, internal legal, and other decision makers.
  • Attending and running contract negotiation calls with external and internal counsel as well as EPC partners to discuss and resolve contracts issues.  
  • Support the legal and commercial teams but identifying flow down topics with which to include in contract process.
  • Communicating contract status with internal stakeholders and tracking in internal systems.
  • Ensuring that contracts are moving forward efficiently.
  • Deploying strategies and processes to decrease award to contract execution timelines.
  • Collaborating with the broader team to create and deploy tools to enable our partners to move from award through contract negotiation and execution efficiently.
  • Work with commercial and systems team to create and evolve automated contract process.
  • Updating Salesforce with contract and related project details including inputting cases and creating contract objects.
  • Monitoring pain points and process gaps to stay ahead of the curve and implement proactive solutions.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements/Desired Characteristics: 

  • EPC contract negotiation experience is required.
  • Solar construction contract negotiation and coordination required.
  • Knowledge of funding processes for C/I solar preferred.
  • Development experience in the C/I solar sector preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce as CRM preferred.
