Distributed Solar Development, LLC (DSD) seeks Manager of Commercial Asset Management to join its growing team. DSD develops “C&I” solar and solar plus storage projects with municipalities, F500 companies, and utilities. This role will work cooperatively with a cross functional team to achieve performance goals for the business.
Position Introduction
Distributed Solar Development, LLC (DSD) is seeking to fill the role of Manager, Commercial Asset Management to join our industry-leading team. In this role, you will manage the commercial operations of DSD’s fast-growing portfolio of operating projects with community solar, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) offtake. The manager will have responsibility for supporting our projects operationally with an emphasis on meeting contractual and regulatory obligations; community solar aggregator, utility, and offtake management; and on-going optimization of financial performance.
The Manager of Commercial Asset Management role provides an excellent opportunity with the DSD team as we continue to grow our portfolio at a rapid pace and seek to build efficient scalable processes to maximize asset performance. The role will report to the Director of Finance, Project Operations and work cross-functionally with other DSD departments including Technical Asset Management, Legal, Development, Origination, Accounting, and Structured Finance.
Responsibilities
· Manage project agreements and their counterparties including offtake agreements (PPAs, FIT contracts, community solar anchor agreements), lease agreements, PILOT agreements, REC buy/sell contracts, and aggregator agreements
· Track and ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations
· Maintain an understanding of and compliance with all Community Solar incentive programs and guidelines for each program in our portfolio of projects
· Work closely with front-end teams to ensure upcoming projects meet all requirements for project registration and compliance, including tracking milestones
· Identify and track operational metrics for reporting
· Manage team of two; one community solar analyst and one asset manager to be hired in Q3 2023
· Build scalable, efficient, and documented processes to manage a growing portfolio of projects
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree with major in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
· Work experience in the renewable industry, asset management experience preferred
· Self-starter with strong problem-solving ability and continuous improvement mindset
· Excellent communication and presentation skills in front of customers as well as strong interpersonal and coordination skills with internal team members
· Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and short turnarounds while sustaining rigorous attention to detail
· Proficient with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree or professional designation
· Work experience in renewables industry
· Experience in distributed solar
· Management experience
· Familiarity with community solar requirements in major markets
