The Sr. Asset Manager will lead the commercial management of the company’s fast-growing operating portfolio of distributed solar and battery storage projects across the United States. Overall responsibilities will include relationship management of key stakeholders (i.e. PPA off-takers, landowners, local government agencies etc.), collaborating cross-functionally with other internal stakeholders (i.e. Asset Management Operations, FP&A, Accounting, Legal, Project Finance, Development, etc.), and building scalable, efficient processes to track and meet contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage material project documents and associated obligations for projects in the operating portfolio, including but not limited to Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, Leases, PILOTs, REC agreements
- Manage and optimize battery storage assets
- Manage relationships with landowners and escalated customer issues
- Maximize the profitability of the portfolio by identifying opportunities to increase revenue and reduce cost
- Identify and mitigate potential risk to future cash flow from operating assets
- Maintain awareness of financial performance and budgeting of the portfolio to support operational reporting to executive management, investors, and lenders
- Manage and monetize recurring incentives (i.e. REC contracts)
- State and local tax and regulatory compliance
- Insurance management (commercial)
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in solar PV asset management
- Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders
- BS Degree in relevant field directly related to renewable energy. Additional education in finance or accounting a plus
- Technology savvy, advanced computer skills especially in MS Office Suite
- Experience in Storage technologies is an asset
- Experience in distributed solar assets is an asset
