The QAQC Manager will lead all quality aspects of the project pre-construction and during the construction phase of all projects in the assigned region. The QAQC Manager will work directly with the Construction Managers, Project Managers and Project Engineers to complete the Distributed Solar Operations (DSO’s) QAQC program in order to ensure that DSD’s assets are built to a high standard.  The QAQC Manager will manage and ensure subcontractor compliance to the QAQC program to ensure all of DSD’s assets are built to the highest quality with an attention to cost and schedule.  The candidate for this role will be a collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills and can work autonomously and self-directed. This position will report to the Director of Construction & QAQC.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 As the QAQC Manager, you will manage and ensure compliance to the QAQC program for DSO with a focus on the following aspects:

  •  Implement and execute DSO’s QAQC program.
  • Perform multiple audits/site visits to monitor the quality of the installation for all commercial projects in the assigned region.
  • Work with CM’s, PE’s and PM’s to review submittals, drawings and RFI’s from subcontractors for project specific materials, value engineering and design.
  • Work with Subcontractors to monitor quality of all installation methods and ensure that installations are being complete according to DSO design, QAQC guidelines, technical specifications, host site specification’s, and industry and DSO standards.
  • Preform QC monitoring of all civil, mechanical and electrical components of the installations.
  • Use video/photograph and other technologies to report/retrieve data on all aspects of installation for quality and compliance
  • Conduct regular and final visual walk throughs to ensure the project has been completed to specifications, drawings and QAQC program.
  • Generate QAQC reports and punch lists
  • Audit subcontractor QAQC documentation
  • Present the DSO Subcontractor Requirements at construction “Kick off” meetings

 

Qualifications/Requirements/Desired Characteristics

  • Exceptional Communication Skills
  • QAQC experience in the solar industry
  • Strong electrical background specific to the solar industry
  • Strong knowledge of solar racking systems
  • Ability to work remotely and independently and be a self-starter
  • General Construction experience
  • High level of project construction knowledge and subcontractor relationship
  • Ability to travel.  High level of travel is needed for this position.
  • 5 years of experience in solar construction or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to adapt to new softwares and technologies
  • Qualification in Engineering, Construction or Electrical Systems preferred
  • Procore experience preferred
