Senior Accountant
Location: NYC, remote working options may be considered
Role Summary/Purpose: This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting function through performance of a variety of tasks including month end close procedures, account analysis and financial statement preparation. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete month-end close procedures including recording of journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations
- Assist in streamlining of accounting processes including automation of payment processing and recording of bank activity
- Record and complete SG&A account analysis including comparison to budgeted and forecasted amounts
- Prepare ad-hoc requests for controller, project accounting manager and fund accounting manager as requested
- Assist in creating and maintaining corporate overhead allocations
- Liaison with third party state and local tax team
- Support year-end audit and quarterly reviews
- Collection and monitoring of accounts receivable
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
- 3-4 years of related experience in public accounting
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Renewable energy experience preferred
- Well organized, very flexible, and strong follow through
- Proactive, resourceful, efficient with strong decision-making skills
- Desire to implement process improvement opportunities
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to grow with development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; must possess high-level of professionalism
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
