Distributed Solar Development, LLC (DSD) seeks a Solar Operations Analyst to join its growing team.  DSD develops “C&I” solar and solar plus storage projects with municipalities, F500 companies, and utilities. This role will work cooperatively with a cross functional team to achieve performance goals for the business. 

 

Position Introduction

 

Distributed Solar Development, LLC (DSD) is seeking to fill the role of Solar Operations Analyst to join our industry leading team.  In this role, you will work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, Sales, development, legal and finance to streamline data collection and analysis practices for the purpose of Asset Management and Commissioning. The Solar Operations analyst responsibilities will include data collection for Assets being transferred from Construction to Commissioning and Asset management, Monthly Performance/financial metrics reporting for operating assets, deep dive root cause analysis of performance issues at site and continuously improving automation of data reporting. . This person will also be responsible for data quality, identification of data gaps and data process compliance.

As we build out our portfolio of Assets in the upcoming year, the need for mature data analysis and seamless communication of data will be critical to our success.  Through your efforts, you will be able to take ownership of our portfolio and site data to create a streamline process for data collection and analysis to our organization, customers, and external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

 

·       Provide oversite on operations and upstream and downstream data collection practices

·       Manage Performance/financial reporting requirements (internal and External)

·       Portfolio metrics reporting (Performance and Financial)

·       Metrics analysis and root cause assignment

·       Deep dive performance analysis (site level and portfolio)

·       Data quality leader

·       Data Process compliance

·       Continuous Improvement of data collection and analysis

 

What makes a great Operations Data Analyst?

 

·       Professional experience in solar analyst role or related fields

·       Willing to aid in the generation of better process and tools, creating initiatives to increase efficiency of data collection and analysis.

·       Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and short turnarounds while sustaining rigorous attention to detail

·       Self-motivated, fast learner, and excited to work in a collaborative team environment

·       Willing to challenge oneself by constantly learning and raising hands to solve problems and increase efficiency

·       Comfortable with thinking outside the box and patiently seeking for solutions when being challenged with tough problems

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills in front of customers as well as strong interpersonal and coordination skills with internal team members

·       Strong Computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software platforms

·       Strong analytical mind and mathematical skills

·       Continuous improvement mindset

·       Experience with Solar Contracts (PPA) and extracting key terms and data from them

 

Required Qualifications

 

·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with strong academic records

·       Strong Software platform experience (Monitoring, Asset management, Salesforce)

·       Strong analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel

·       Familiarity with Contracts

·       At least 2-years’ work experience in the renewable energy field

·       At least 2-years’ experience in the field of data analysis

 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

·       Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, math, science, economics/finance, or related field

·       2 years or more work experience in Solar.

·       3 years or more experience in Data analysis

·       Extensive DAS and monitoring experience

·       Familiarity with PVSYST modeling reports

 

East Coast area preferred.  Remote options considered.
