Role Summary
The Sr. Project Engineer – Performance will have 5+ years in PV engineering and project performance analysis for commercial and/or utility scale solar PV projects. This role shares its responsibilities between traditional project engineering tasks and developing and maintaining project performance standards working with development engineering, O&M, and Asset Management. Additionally, this role will be the lead on project performance/production testing and will mentor the other project engineers on these topics.

Essential Responsibilities
Ø The Sr. Project Engineer – Performance is the main point of contact for all engineering for their projects and performs electrical design along with coordination of civil and/or structural engineering, as necessary
Ø Responsible for creation of 30/60/90, Issued for Permit (IFP), and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing sets for permitting, specifying and quoting equipment, supervising the construction activities and resolving any issues that arise
Ø Specification of all project equipment along with timely management of submittals and requests for information (RFIs) during construction
Ø Ability to work effectively on multiple projects in various stages of construction at the same time
Ø Demonstrated ability to economically and efficiently solve design and construction issues in the field
Ø Ensures client focused execution of all engineering activities
Ø Create designs and solutions that optimize economics and production
Ø Functions as main point of contact for all project acceptance/capacity testing and any production guarantees and subsequent testing
Ø Responsible for reviewing performance related items during project due diligence to ensure company performance standards are being upheld
Ø Works with the origination and development engineering teams to implement best practices to maintain competitiveness
Ø Attends trainings to stay current on best production modeling and testing techniques
Ø Assist Asset Management in identifying root cause of underperformance issues and coordinates with project engineering, commissioning, and project management to implement corrective actions
Ø Develops preventative and corrective action methods and metrics to be utilized by Asset Management during fleet operation and maintenance
Ø Implement feedback loop using project startup and ongoing performance to inform upfront equipment and design decisions
Ø Assist engineering team on development and project requirements
Ø Train and guide junior staff
Sr. Project Engineer Required Qualifications
Ø Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
Ø 5+ years of project engineering for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale PV systems
Ø Strong oral and written communication skills
Ø Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ø Demonstrated experience with PVSyst production estimates and the associated system inputs
Ø Expert experience with ASTM Capacity Testing and Weather Adjusted Production Testing
Ø Demonstrated experience with DAS/SCADA systems, AlsoEnergy preferred
Ø Strong background in probability and statistics
Ø Deep data analytical skills
Ø PE License a plus
