Warehouse Associate 

Job Purpose / Objective 

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, filling orders, and driving Helping Mamas’ vehicles to and from distribution and pick up sites. Helping Mamas’ Warehouse Associate goes beyond the role of a typical warehouse worker because they function as the face of Helping Mamas in the community and are in constant interaction with Helping Mamas’ partners, donors, and volunteers. 

Essential Functions & Primary Duties 

 

  • Drives the Helping Mamas van and box truck while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, following the daily schedule, and allowing for changes that may come up throughout the day.
  • Transports items between Helping Mamas warehouse, office, distribution and pick up sites.
  • Coordinate deliveries with Director of Partnerships and Impact, Program Coordinator, and/or Warehouse Coordinator  
  • Interacts face-to-face with Helping Mamas’ Program and Warehouse staff, non-profit partner staff, and members of the community that Helping Mamas serves.
  • Maintain contact with supervisor and/or colleagues during pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Coordinates via phone and email with distribution sites and Program staff to schedule drop-offs and donation pick-ups.
  • Assist with organizing and cleaning the warehouse ensuring it is a safe environment; preparing and filling orders, moving boxes and pallets regularly, and receiving shipments.
  • Assists with partner staff ‘shopping,’ as needed.

●    Ensures vehicles are kept clean and organized

  • Oversees maintenance for Helping Mamas vehicles.
  • Takes out trash from warehouse and sorting room when needed.

●  Other driving and warehouse related tasks as required.   

 

Qualifications Required

 

  • Warm, friendly, respectful demeanor and outgoing personality.  
  • Valid driver’s license and exceptional driving record.   ● Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently.  
  • Comfortable driving throughout Georgia. 
  • Must be 25 years old or older.  
  • Experience driving a cargo van or commercial box truck.  
  • Class C license. 
  • Must be willing to get forklift certification and drive the forklift as needed.

Part Time - ~28 hours/week

Salary Range: $18-$20/hr
