Position Summary:

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for driving the COCA Bus providing transportation to students for the Pre-Professional Division. This position will follow pre-determined routes and provides a safe mode of transportation, following all state and local driving guidelines. The Transportation Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that the COCA Homeroom is a positive, safe and supporting environment for the students utilizing this space.

Transportation:

  • Safely transporting children to and from COCA or COCA sponsored events.
  • Follow the most efficient transportation routes, outlined by the Pre-Professional Division Manager.
  • Track pick-up/drop off records for each student riding the shuttle bus.
  • Maintain the service needs of the van including; gas, oil changes, cleaning in and outside the bus, general maintenance. This is to include a monthly “deep clean” to include vacuuming the bus.
  • Communicate as needed with schools and families to ensure safe pick up/drop offs.
  • Represent COCA to our children and school sites in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Assist in other driving duties as assigned not limited to transporting (supply pick up, transporting guests of COCA, etc.).

 

Homeroom Monitoring:

  • Maintain the student sign-in and out sheet, to track who enters the COCA facility.
  • Escort students to and from the bus.
  • Ensure students follow the proper dress code and arrive to class on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and/ or Qualifications:

  • Driving record that meets the expectations set by COCA’s Company Vehicle and Safe Driver Policy, required.
  • Active Class E License required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects.
  • The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc., and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating equipment such as company van, computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
  • This position’s regular schedule is afternoons and evenings, Monday through Friday. On occasion, weekend work may be requested as could one off events that require attendance. This position is seasonal and there will be no hours available in the Summer.
