New Destiny is seeking to hire a full-time Program Director to provide regular on-site services at two supportive housing locations in The Bronx. This role ensures consistent, trauma-informed practice in case management, crisis intervention, and community organizing, while supervising staff and coordinating with external partners. This is a full-time position requiring one late night a week (e.g., 11:00 am to 7:00 pm). The Program Director will report directly to the Regional Director.

Responsibilities |
|
Tenant Engagement and Community Organizing:
• Build a team to actively engage tenants to participate in program services and activities. • Foster tenant interaction and build community within the building. In doing so, develop and implement workshops that reflect the interests of tenants. • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan enriching activities for children and adults. • Maintain transparency with tenants regarding expectations, requirements and provide support as needed. • Build relationships with local community organizations, legal aid, healthcare providers, employment services, etc. in order to bring programming and referral sources to the tenants.
Supervision of Case Management Services:
• Supervise case managers at both sites, provide guidance on survivor-centered trauma-informed care. • Split time between both sites to supervise operations, maintain visibility with staff and residents, and ensure program consistency. • Review case files, service plans, and housing stability goals. Ensure all data entry for team is timely and accurate. • Collaborate with Family Support Program staff at other sites to learn/share best practices and with community partners. • Ensure team is working to mitigate rental arrears and collaborate with New Destiny’s Property Management team. • Provide leadership, coaching, performance evaluations, staff education, and ongoing staff support. • Oversee escalated incidents, including threats to safety and mental health crises.
Administrative Duties:
• Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail. Ability to adjust to the diverse needs of tenants. • Ensure outcomes are met for funders and internal goals. • Conduct ongoing internal monitoring and data analysis. • Manage internal reporting for Regional Director, VP of Supportive Housing, CEO, and OTDA reporting. • Manage and maintain relationship with property management department, mental health team and financial coaches.

Requirements |
|
• Master's degree preferred in psychology, social work, or related field, bachelor’s degree required. • A minimum of 5 years' work experience in a client-facing, nonprofit organization. • A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a social service setting. • Familiarity working with survivors of domestic violence and/or homelessness. • Must be responsible, flexible, a self-starter, able to work independently and respond appropriately to crises. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, teams, share point and power point. • Experience with trauma-informed care.
Preferred candidates will have:
• Strong preference for Spanish fluency. • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits, entitlements and services offered in NYC
