Summary:

Embrace is looking for a Software Developer to join our agile software development team. In this role, you collaborate with other developers to maintain and expand our web application. Part of these responsibilities include writing and debugging code, so we are looking for applicants familiar with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You must have excellent problem solving skills, be self-motivated, and flexible. This position offers the ability to learn from senior members of the team and advance your career with a growing company.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work on fixing bugs

  • Work on feature development projects

  • Work with internal and external API’s

  • Develop unit tests

  • Maintain documentation

  • Attend daily/weekly developer meetings

  • Collaborate with other developers to design, build, and maintain applications

  • Use JIRA to plan daily/weekly work

 

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience writing code in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

  • 2+ years experience working with relational databases

  • 1+ years experience with git (or other version control)

  • Comfortable with object oriented programming

  • Comfortable using linux command line

  • Familiarity with MVC frameworks

  • Excellent online communication skills

  • Able to work independently, as part of a team, or under direction of management

  • Experience working with API’s

 

Beneficial, but not Required

  • Experience with with ORM’s

  • Experience with dependency injection patterns

  • Experienced with normalized database structures

  • Experience writing units tests or test driven development environments

  • Experience with AWS products

  • Experience with Twitter bootstrap or other grid based layouts

  • Experience with Redis

  • Familiarity what the OWASP top 10

  • Familiarity with JIRA

  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
