Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Production Line Supervisor to join our team based out of our Brooklyn production facility. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to work closely with the fast growing team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as we embark on our next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience running production lines in the food industry,, high attention to detail, strong leadership qualities and loves working in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary contact for the production and packaging team
- Partner with the management team to optimize and improve packaging process
- Ensure a safe work environment for packaging and production team on the floor while producing a quality product
- Lead the team to produce product that matches parameters set forth by the Batch Records
- Alert management of any batch record target changes
- Ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum and communicate any issues that require an extensive amount of downtime
- Troubleshoot machinery and keep machinery running
- Minimize product scrap and waste
- Partner with management team to ensure team is hitting production targets
- Follow Food Safety and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream quality standards
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- 2-3 years in a food manufacturing setting
- 2-3 years leading / managing a team
- Knowledge of bundler process and all manufacturing machinery
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (8+ hours)
