Summary:  The Senior Marketing Manager works with the VP of Marketing to support all assigned products and programs for Catalyst OrthoScience. The Senior Marketing Manager works with the Sales, Medical Education and R&D teams to manage the lifecycle of the Catalyst portfolio. 

The Senior Marketing Manager’s primary role is to plan, implement, and control all marketing related aspects of assigned products.  This includes both long-range strategic planning and short-term tactical execution.  Ability to collaboratively develop and manage timelines and milestones is a prerequisite. The Senior Marketing Manager is expected to meet or exceed product line budget objectives by collaborating with R&D to bring innovative new products to market, by serving as the market expert in their area of expertise, and guiding key internal business processes, and by actively supporting the field sales force.

Experience in the shoulder arthroplasty market space is highly desired.

This position is directly responsible for management and achievement of budgets, forecasts, training plans, and strategic scope of product offering. This position influences manufacturing operations as well as research and development priorities and projects.

The Senior Marketing Manager must be able to prioritize activities and allocate resources for greatest effectiveness. Experience conceptualizing, developing, and launching medical device utilizing a diverse design team desired.

Position Responsibilities/Expectations:

Responsible for traditional marketing deliverables such as business plans, pricing, product positioning, promotional strategies, life cycle plans and advising on product improvements and new product needs.

Support sales education with updated materials and communications on an ongoing basis.

Routinely communicate with the sales force regarding product updates and availability, competitive activity, sales positioning, best practices, and new product development updates.

Develop rationale and make recommendations to management on pricing, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, promotion, market research, regulatory, legal and any issue which impacts product responsibility.

Develop and expand technical knowledge necessary for product line management and customer interaction.

Remain abreast of the market, the competition, and the environment.  Act as an information resource to all functional areas. Identify key competitors, understand, and analyze the competitive market environment.

Prepare regular product forecasts based on customer information and market analysis. Analyze and regularly report on product usage trends. Ensure that an adequate inventory of products is always maintained.

Maintain active contact with key physicians regarding clinical research as it relates to current and future product requirements.

Analyze product line performance from both a quantitative and qualitative standpoint to determine best method to drive growth.

Define and conduct product training for HCP's and field sales force.

Establish product and pricing strategies, list prices, and discount structures.

Develop positioning strategies for new and existing products

Seek out, validate, and define new product concepts.

Drive product line profitability through proactive work with sales, marketing, operations, regulatory and finance

Develop and provide voice of customer / user needs to the engineering project team. This will require regular visits to customers as well as market research to validate Marketing Requirements.

Drive the product road-map for products. Lead regular product road-map reviews with key stakeholders.

Provide on-going product support / product expertise to customers and sales team.

Responsible for new product introductions – Pricing & Positioning, Launch Training, Sales & Marketing tool kit at time of launch

Develop comprehensive marketing plans for assigned products.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 

7+ years of Product Management experience in a Medical Device company.

Orthopedic medical device experience.

Experience in Shoulder Arthroplasty market space highly preferred.

Experience with 3-D Planning Software programs preferred

Ability to handle abstract and conceptual problems.
