Job Summary:
The NE Regional Sales Manager (RSM)  is responsible for managing a team of independent distributors across a multi-state geography.  The primary objective is to drive regional sales performance through organic growth by both expanding sales with existing customers and identifying and converting new surgeon users.  Additionally, the  NE RSM will implement strategic initiatives and foster strong customer relationships with all customers.  The NE Regional Sales Manager will report directly to the Area Vice President of Sales, ensuring alignment with company objectives and seamless integration of sales efforts. This role requires a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge, excellent team management skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies that align with corporate goals and directives from the Area Vice President.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and sales data to adjust strategies and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Lead regional sales initiative and ensure successful implementation of strategic programs and promotions.
  • Advance surgeon prospects through the sales funnel leading to conversions of new surgeon customers and strengthening the Catalyst customer base.

2. Distributor Management and Development:

  • Manage and support a team of independent distributors to achieve sales targets.
  • Engage daily with distributor reps to foster activities and interactions that progress target surgeons through the Catalyst sales funnel.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and address any performance issues promptly.
  • Provide/Facilitates ongoing training, guidance, and motivation to distributors to enhance their sales performance and product knowledge.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and providing exceptional service.
    • Act as a point of escalation for complex customer issues and facilitate timely resolutions
  • Travel to customers and potential customer’s facilities as needed, supporting distributor efforts in securing new business.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders within region promote and expedite growth.

4. Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Territory Analysis:

  • Track and report on regional sales performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Prepare and present detailed quarterly sales reports and projections to the Area Vice President, providing insights to market trends, competitive activity, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Utilize Catalyst resources and market data to identify trends and make informed decisions to drive sales growth.
  • Provide timely reporting of field activities, instrument and implant performance, and distributor and end-user variables to assist in evaluating needed adjustments to resource allocation and over all Regional and Area business strategy

5. Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Area Vice President to ensure regional sales activities align with overall company goals.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Sales Directors to share best practices and drive collective success.
  • Coordinate with marketing, medical education, and other departments to support sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Operations at both Catalyst and distributor levels on inventory management to ensure appropriate consignment levels are assigned to meet and exceed territory sales targets.
  • Facilitate open and transparent communication and manage expectation on the availability and timely delivery of product.
  • Collaborate with Finance and field reps to ensure the timely collection of accounts receivable items and materials.

6. Compliance and Ethics:

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behavior within the sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the medical device industry, with a minimum of 3 years as a sales manager.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the medical device industry.
  • Strong knowledge of shoulder arthroplasty products and the healthcare landscape.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams, particularly independent distributors.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region as required.
