Job Description— Product Design Engineer (Wireless Charging)

 

Job Summary

 

The Product Design Engineer in this position serves as the primary technical point of contact for Wireless charging products and acts as the interface between the company and its customers. They will guide the wireless charging designs and work with R&D, production, and other teams to introduce new products, improve design performance, and solve functional related issues or process yield improvement arisen in NPI & production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Study, analyze, and optimize wireless charging product designs.
  • Interface with customers, head quarter design & manufacturing team to define an optimized design from NPI to MP.
  • On-site visit customer regularly to present technical report, review engineering sample, and effectively close development issues to ensure NPI build on time.
  • Provide design support and recommendations to customers during product design stage, as well as assistance during the whole life cycles of products.
  • Analyze product data, test product samples, and make suggestions on measures to optimize design.
  • Close interaction with Manufacturer counterpart. Guide and assist the R&D and engineer team of the company to satisfy customers’ requirements.
  • Interfacing with testing laboratories, and suppliers for the test set up, test criteria define and development.
  • Conduct international conference call with both US customer and manufacturing team in Asia.
  • Close interaction with Manufacturer counterpart and cross-functional team to support development builds at manufacturing site.
  • International travel to Asia up to 30% of the time when travel is lifted.

 

 

Requirements

  • Master or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. Additional electrical engineering education background is a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in with electronic wireless charging product design & manufacturing, FATP assembly, cable assembly process or equivalent.
  • Experienced in wireless charging products design of experiment (DOE) & process optimization, DFM preparation, and tolerance analysis.
  • Experienced with various manufacturing assembly process, adhesive, welding, cable process.
  • Experienced with plastic injection molding, metal stamping, materials selection, precision module design tolerance definition, and basic manufacturing.
  • Co-work with R&D Engineer to set up electrical design layout for product mechanical design’s feasibility.
  • Familiar with ProE/Creo, NX CAD software and other finite element analysis package.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including project planning, documentation of technical requirements, and technical presentations
  • Prefer experience with high volume production in consumer electronics.
  • Prefer experience with NPI and production experience in China.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment for high volume consumer electronic product development.
  • International travel to Asia up to 30% of the time when travel is lifted
