Spirovant is a gene therapy leader focused on changing the course of cystic fibrosis and other respiratory diseases. Our gene therapy technologies are designed to overcome the historical barriers that have prevented effective genetic treatments for conditions such as cystic fibrosis. We are a rapidly growing company located in the biotech heart of University City, Philadelphia. To support our continued expansion and enable our future success, Spirovant is looking for a Lab Manager with the following Responsibilities and Requirements: 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a primary point of contact for support of laboratory facilities including HVAC, compressed gasses/vacuum, electrical and plumbing.
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with providers to ensure timely solutions for supply and infrastructure requests
  • Identify infrastructure needs for instruments and coordinating delivery of new instrumentation and equipment.
  • Work with scientific team to schedule and coordinate instrument and equipment service and calibration. 
  • Establish, manage and maintain service contracts for instruments and equipment
  • Implement and oversee inventory management to ensure efficient ordering, supply tracking, easy restocking
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory facilities
  • Support Environmental Health and Safety, including but not limited to managing hazardous  waste storage, handling, and removal
  • Manage ordering, receiving and distribution of research materials. Coordinate shipment of research materials to collaborators, including hazardous shipments in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • This position will be on-site and may occasionally require time outside of normal working hours to support laboratory operations
  • Other responsibilities as business needs require

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with at least 3-5 years of experience working in a relevant lab or manufacturing setting.
  • Biotech and/or gene therapy research experience a plus
  • Experience with Electronic Laboratory Notebook a plus
  • Demonstrated experience and track-record accomplishment in lab management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, highly motivated, execution focused with strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and multidisciplinary environment
  • Flexible, collaborative and responsive to scientific, technical and business opportunities and priorities
