Pre-Operative Surgical / Coordinator

 This is a perfect position for someone who knows how to work fast and smart. You know where the rabbit holes are and you’re good about avoiding them early on. You know which details make all the difference, and which ones don’t make any difference. You know the difference between spending time wisely and wasting time. We will rely on you to perform the following:

•             Arrange surgery date and time with patients

•             Schedule pre-op and post-op visits

•             Provide patient a copy of all appointments

•             Assist patients who need financing by contacting the proper companies and/or giving patients information

•             Answer questions from patients or family members

•             Code and enter charges for surgery billing

•             Verify insurance coverage with patient

•             Discuss collection of necessary fees that are patients responsibility

•             Call insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain any pre-certification authorization or referrals

•             Schedule anesthesia

•             Prepare orders, IOL powers and paperwork, which is faxed to surgical facility

•             Prepare patient chart with appropriate paperwork necessary to assist the doctors

•             Discuss different lens options with patients

•             Perform A-Scan measurements and calculations

•             Perform patient counseling and pre instructions

•             Prepare IOL worksheets for physicians



•             High School diploma or equivalent

•             Flexible with ability to work some evenings

•             Excellent communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

•             Paperless office, therefore must possess good computer skills and ability to type

•             Some travel is required to satellite offices

•             Medical experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
