The role

The Financial Analyst supports all financial planning, business partnering, analysis, budgeting, and financial presentation activity within GOJA.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

1.       Budgeting/Planning – Support to maintain robust system of budgeting and forecasting for product sales and margin and publish periodic forecasts to management to inform how the company is measured against its objectives and providing specific recommendations for action.

Accountability – Financial Analyst will support the company’s budgeting process and forecasting methods in accordance with the company standards.  Monitor sales plan, margins and overhead to ensure financial targets are met.

2.      Business Partnering – Support with Financial Analysis to key areas of the company.

Accountability – Financial Analyst will ensure the accurate and timely financial reporting for Supply Chain, IT, Operations, Marketing and HR, including key metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, to enable achievement of plans. In addition, support planning the revenue and operational expenses for existing and new businesses and products.

3.      Financial Reporting – Prepares financial statements and external and internal reporting packages and other reports ensuring their accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP. In addition, reports at the request of Finance Director.

Accountability – Finance Analyst will provide required reporting on a timely basis.  Supports executive team with appropriate financial metrics information.

4.      Professional Development – Finance Analyst will engage in ongoing professional development to maintain required certifications and industry knowledge to perform this role effectively and will recommend desired and required professional development for team personnel.

Accountability – Prior to the end of each fiscal year, the Finance Analyst will publish a personal and departmental Professional Development plan detailing all professional development activity, certifications, and courses for the following year, including budget amounts for registration and travel.  This Professional Development plan is subject to approval by Finance Director. Prior to the end of each quarter, Finance Analyst will provide a written update to manager related to attendance, activity, and any modifications to the annual plan.

5.      Culture –The Finance Analyst will understand and be conversant in the company's mission, vision, and values.

Accountability – Finance Analyst will be accountable for a) effectively communicating the company's mission, vision and values; b) will be an effective model and attentive to the behavior of managers and staff in accordance with the company's mission, vision and values; c) will be accountable for coaching and, where appropriate, taking corrective action; and d) will participate in meetings regarding the definition and maintenance of the company's mission, vision and values, providing constructive input.

Education & Knowledge

·        Master’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.

·        At least 5 years of subsequent corporate finance experience with similar financial reporting responsibilities, including as Business Partner.

·        Shared service center experience preferred.

·        M&A experience preferred.

·        Experience in consumer-packaged goods or e-commerce.

·        Demonstrated strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations.

·        Excellent written and verbal English/Spanish communication skills.
