You are:
A Business System Analyst who thrives on research and evaluation of business processes, procedures, and user requirements to identify opportunities to address problems or enhancements associated with existing systems or to create new systems. You will work to enhance performance of systems for data analysis, reporting, and ease of use, and participate in various aspects of the systems development lifecycle process.
Your skills and knowledge include:
- Knowledge of organizational concepts and principles.
- Working knowledge of computers and capabilities of data processing equipment.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate those requirements into functional requirements for programming personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including making presentations to groups of people.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of the methods of data communication.
Examples of work you may perform include:
- Assisting in the analysis of user needs and prioritizing requests for new or enhanced computer applications.
- Developing project proposals to implement system revisions by acting as the specialist who understands the business relevance of the data within the scope of work.
- Coordinating activities with others, such as IT staff and program staff in various units, to develop tools for functional and system changes or enhancements of programs and systems.
- Providing technical support, guidance, and direction to department personnel by assisting users on software developed to collect, retrieve, manipulate, or report data.
- Developing and executing system and user acceptance test plans.
- Evaluating ongoing needs and making recommendations regarding user needs.
- Performing related duties as required.
Specific Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associate's Degree and one (1) year of experience in business analysis or organizational development that includes experience in the basic concepts of process improvement and technical knowledge of computer systems.
OR - High school graduation or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in business analysis or organizational development that includes experience in the basic concepts of process improvement and technical knowledge of computer systems.
