You are:
An IT System Developer II who thrives on analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of new or existing software applications.
Your skills and knowledge include:
- Working knowledge of software development platforms, programming languages, frameworks, and design patterns.
- Considerable knowledge of computer and telecommunications operations, work simplification techniques, and workflow procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of operation, characteristics, and capabilities of computer equipment.
- Ability to prepare system documentation and user manuals.
- Ability to prepare system designs, workflow plans, and report/input/output documents.
- Ability to program, test, and debug programs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Examples of work you may perform include:
- Analyzing performance of hardware and software interfaces.
- Applying programming standards and techniques.
- Participating in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software applications.
- Installing software and user utilities for modifications and upgrades.
- Conferring with personnel to analyze operational procedures and identify problems.
- Writing detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify programs.
- Studying existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems.
- Maintaining and updating department or agency computer databases.
- Assisting with establishing database administration procedures.
- Maintaining security of systems and data.
- Performing related duties as required.
Specific Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
OR - Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
OR - Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
