Your skills and knowledge include:
- Considerable knowledge of computer capabilities, procedures, and requirements.
- Considerable knowledge of systems analysis and design practices and procedures.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems effectively.
- Ability to plan and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to maintain computer inventory and ticketing system.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong customer service skill
Examples of work you may perform include:
- Providing instructions and training to lower-level specialists and assisting with resolving more difficult computer hardware and software issues.
- Escalating more complex issues to higher-level technicians.
- Responding to client inquiries concerning systems operations and providing diagnoses of system hardware, software, and operator issues.
- May perform enterprise-wide desktop deployments.
- Responding to user problems and working with users on problem definition and solutions.
- Removing viruses and malware from infected computers.
- Performing hardware and software evaluations and recommending basic technical purchases and upgrades.
- Operating and training end users in more complex applications including those developed in-house.
- Performing related duties as required.
Specific Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
OR - Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
OR - Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
