An IT Network Administrator IV who thrives on supporting the network infrastructure critical to the flow of data and tech enabled operations.

Examples of work you may perform include:

Analyzing network activity and problems to discover and prevent systematic errors.
Assisting with technology planning through ongoing research.
Designing and supporting VoIP infrastructure.
Designing, documenting, implementing, monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting problems in a mixed-vendor LAN/WAN network.
Documenting network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Ensuring planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
Managing large-sized projects according to budgets and schedules.
Monitoring network utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Performing network security design and integration.
Remaining current on emerging technologies.
Selecting, deploying, and using appropriate tools for reporting and routing of IP telephony traffic.
Overseeing new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Planning and implementing improvements, modifications, or replacement of network infrastructure components.
Designing, setting up, and configuring complex routing and switching environments.
Designing, setting up, and configuring complex wireless networking.
Documenting, tracking, and monitoring network problems.
Ensuring network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
Evaluating and modifying network performance.
Maintaining thorough understanding of Internet basics (DNS, Security, IP Routing, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
Maximizing network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating on optimization.
Monitoring and analyzing network performance issues and implement performance tuning.
Performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems.
Planning and monitoring installation of network systems.
Providing guidance to junior team members.
Providing advanced level network support and troubleshooting.
Serving as technical lead for small to medium network projects.
Securing network systems by enforcing security policies.
May coordinate with vendors and enforce change management procedures.
May supervise staff, assign work, review tasks, and ensure effective resolution of issues.

Specific Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
OR
Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
OR
Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
