You are:

An IT Network Administrator II who thrives on supporting the network infrastructure critical to the flow of data and tech enabled operations.

Examples of work you may perform include:

  • Creating and maintaining documentation for network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Determining network, system, and user requirements.
  • Managing assigned project activities and program components.
  • Managing medium-sized projects according to budgets and schedules.
  • Assisting vendors to ensure system deliverables and activities are in conformance with the contract.
  • Complying with change management procedures.
  • Accurately documenting hardware failure, repair, installation, and other work requests.
  • Configuring various network devices (routers, switches, WAPs, etc.).
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting router and switch problems.
  • Identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems.
  • Coordinating with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Maintaining in-depth understanding of Local Area Networking and routing/switching protocols.
  • Maintaining basic understanding of Internet basics (DNS, Security, IP Routing, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Providing Level 1 network support and troubleshooting.
  • Responding to inquiries from staff, system administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware/software, IP phones, and security systems.

Specific Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
    OR
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
    OR
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
