You are:

An IT Enterprise Architect III who thrives on designing systems and translating functional business requirements for technology-fueled solutions conforming to relevant standards.

Your job may engage skills and knowledge such as:

  • Extensive knowledge of IT architecture and design constraints/processes including platforms, application dependency systems, network topology, interoperability, service orientation frameworks, and security/compliance standards (NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA).
  • Significant experience in requirements identification and management processes.
  • Experience as a technical leader on large projects.
  • Significant experience developing system functional designs.
  • Competent technical writer.
  • Experience in all enterprise architecture domains: Application/Integration, Information/Data, Technical/Infrastructure, Business Architecture.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and previous experience managing and implementing IT-related projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interact with public sector leaders, IT managers, technical and non-technical stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Applying effective design principles and communicate complex and detailed information with business and IT professionals.
  • Aligning business strategies to IT strategies through an Enterprise Architecture framework and discipline.
  • Establishing maturity models, roadmaps, and sustainability models of current and future state vision.
  • Analyzing, planning, designing, and providing domain-specific leadership to IT projects and implementation of Information Systems.
  • Contributing to standards development and documentation.
  • Ensuring architecture domains are appropriately aligned with business requirements and ready for future scalability, interoperability, and agility.
  • Participating in business and strategy development.
  • Consulting with managers and technical support staff to ensure systems conform to and align with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Coordinating migration plans for agency and department IT infrastructure.
  • Determining methods to leverage existing resources for IT Planning goals and initiatives.
  • Providing support for project plans by analyzing project needs and comparing them to existing systems.
  • Developing project plans at the agency/department and enterprise level.
  • Consulting with business owners, project managers, and IT managers to ensure compliance with architecture, standards, policies, and methodologies.
  • Identifying and reporting on architecture deficiencies.
  • Creating and maintaining Enterprise Architecture artifacts, models, and processes.

Specific Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science AND four (4) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints
    OR
  • Associate’s degree in computer science AND six (6) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints
    OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND eight (8) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints
